Appeal for Transfer after Posting

A few will end up with none of their six choices, while some with a choice which they have decided not to have. But most will get one of their first 3 choices. Pray hard.

Before u apply for any transfer, consider these:

1) your PSLE aggregate and the school's cut-off point,

2) any special strength(s) that u could contribute to the school, (From the school's perspectives, u must be able to answer their "why should we lower our school aggregate to take u in?")

3) strong reason(s) for your appeal,

4) the school that u are appealing to was your first choice (I have absolutely no idea why this is necessary).

If u are not able to satisfy all the above criteria, then I have to let u know that most likely u are just wasting your time and giving yourself false hope. The first sentence of their reply will look something like this, "We have considered your appeal. We regret to inform u that your application is unsuccessful."

Your application for transfer should be done at the new sec sch that u have been posted to as soon as possible. U may then check the outcome of your appeal at that school too. Example, u were posted to Xin Min Sec but appealing to get into Anderson Sec. U should submit your appeal to Xin Min Sec and check the outcome at Xin Min Sec too.

The results of the appeal will only be made known in late December or early January. This means u are going to waste more time waiting, and not being able to prepare for your new school, buying of textbooks and uniform etc. My suggestion is, don't bother to appeal unless u are able to meet the above four conditions (or may be more). Really.

Please note that the posting results will be released on 19 December 2007 @ 11am. U can check your posting results by coming back to Anderson Pri or through the S1 Internet System (S1-IS) (www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/sec1/pslemain.htm) or through the Interactive Voice Response System (Tel: 66912066). U have to report to your posted sec schs on 21 December 2007 at 8.30 am.

I'll receive a list of all your posted sec schools. Perhaps I'll update them here when I am free, so that u'll be aware of the movements of all your classmates.
